Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni is calling on all her nation's parties to unite under the banner of her Kadima party that will no longer be headed by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert once he resigns.
Livni, a contender to succeed Olmert, said all parties should unite behind the agenda of Israeli security and the peace process.
"I will continue to call any party that can be a partner to this agenda ... to put aside all these internal calculations," she said, speaking in Hebrew, to reporters at U.N. headquarters.
She did not address Likud party leader and rival Benjamin Netanyahu's call for early Israeli elections.
Olmert announced Wednesday that he will leave office in September.
